The great leader of the past include such men as Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Puritans like Thomas Watson, John Owen and Richard Baxter have left us a rich collection of books that we can read to understand what they taught and believed.
"The Bondage of the Will" by Martin Luther. "The Institutes of the Christian Religion" by John Calvin. These books were written to show what Protestants believed and why they had to separate from the Roman Catholic Church.
The issues they argued about back then are still important today. Issues like Faith alone are still being argued about today. Some protestants dont think these issues are important and some of them want to agree with the Roman Catholic view on these but dont want to leave the Protestant churches and join with the Roman Catholic church.
