Creeds

I have added links to several important creeds of the church. These creeds do not replace the Bible. They were written to show what the church belived.

Comments:
I've never read the Abstract of Principles. I'll print it out to read sometime tomorrow.

Good links; good idea.

The abstracts of principles was for the Southern Baptist seminary. It was intended to be the beliefs of the school and for the teachers to teach.

Although I rather go directly to scripture (Puritan Belief) for doctrine and not creeds I do love to see what the other great men of God have said. You have some great creeds listed.

The nicean creed which was formed by catholic bishops states this:

"We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church."

Are you a member of this catholic church?

P.S I asked you a question here

No, I am not roman catholic. The protestants when they broke off from Rome affirmed the nicean creed.

This is great that you don't believe this line of the nicean creed:

"We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church."

How is it then that the protestants who broke off from the catholic church re-affirmed a creed with a line it it like this? Why would they re-affirm their allegence to one catholic and apostolic church by upholding the mother of Harlots number 1 doctrine?

My Opinion: In some areas they came out of catholocism. One example is the doctrines of predestination however in other areas they kept onto catholocism.

However we are called to come completely out of catholocism.

No, catholic also means universal. Not necessary to follow Rome.
